Title: "iPad = iPower"

iPads are such an incredibly powerful tool, they can impact on your role as a Learner, a Teacher and a Leader.
Let’s look at “Purpose, Productivity and the iPad as a Creative tool to Nurture Thinking”. Everything from “Communication to Collaboration to Capturing Voice”.

Expectations:

Time will be provided for questions, if you have access to an iPad and iTunes account feel free to bring it with you as you may choose to download apps and learn how to use them during the session.

Paula recently presented this session to the First time Principals Conference and is repeating a similar session at Ulearn in Auckland in October.

Title: Weblists’ making it easy for teachers

An interactive and hands on workshop creating weblists, to house your favourite pictures, websites, videos, documents and files. Great tool to use when presenting ideas and content to colleagues at staff meetings. You take the guess work out of the equation by making it easy for your students to find a collection of their favourite websites, photos and documents, all of which can be found under the one umbrella. Weblists make it easier for you, your colleagues and students to share content and to find content.

Expectations:

This will be a 'repeat' of the session Molly shared at our Teacher Only Day Conference

Title: Enhancing Teacher Productivity using Excel

Getting Around in Excel, Keyboard Shortcuts, Managing Workbooks, Entering Data (Text, Numbers, Dates, AutoFill), Editing Cells (selection techniques, clear data, move data, copy data, multiple undo/redo, insert rows/columns), Working with Formulae (basics BEDMAS). Lots of examples of use, for teachers. Questions and Answers time provided.

Expectations: EXCEL must be installed on your laptop. The first hour of this session will be a 'run through' of Wendy's Teacher Only day Conference. The second hour will be for those that wish to stay to explore 'ADVANCED EXCEL' and to have Wendy alongside to provide support and guidance. Having some data or figures you wish to input would be useful.

  • How to add 'bling' (so now I've got it what do I do with it?)

Title: Making the most out of Digital Photos
Expectations: This session will be suitable for all classroom teachers
We will be covering
One site for adding Voice
1. Fotobabble (Talking Photo's)
Two sites with lots of choices
2. Big Huge Labs (for creating posters, magazine covers, calendars and more)
3. Pizap (for creating mosaics, 'Comic Life' style posters and more)
Three sites for Editing and adding Effects
4. Be Funky (Add effects and enhance photo's)
5. Photofunia (Effects)
6. Fotoflexor (Editing and Effects)
Four sites for getting creative and organised
7. Animoto (Uses photo's to create short movies)
8. PhotoPeach (to create a slideshow with music and captions)
Both these programs are downloaded from the internet and used from your computer.
9. Shape Collage (Turn multiple photo's into shapes)
10. Picasa (Organise, Edit and Share)

Expectations: This workshop is aimed at Year 3/4/5/6 teachers or any staff working with age level.
